Corporate Finance Executive

The Ecsponent group has achieved triple-digit growth in key performance areas for the past seven years and is anticipating this growth trajectory to continue.


Role expectations

The Corporate Finance Executive will be responsible for financial transactions undertaken by the business including mergers & acquisitions, debt placements, and institutional capital raising through formal and informal instruments. This role is accountable for the complete process of handling large transactions, from planning and research through to execution and delivery of the deal.

To deliver in this role, the Corporate Finance Executive is responsible for undertaking due diligence across all transactions.


Core tasks

  • Providing strategic insight and knowledge to contribute to the financial direction of the company
  • Preparing information in respect of the business’ financial future
  • Creating all necessary reports to assist with strategic financial planning
  • Advising on meeting targets and creating investment capital
  • Using financial modelling to predict outcomes
  • Structuring financial deals
  • Liaising with all parties involved in financial transactions
  • Advising on how to meet targets and generate investment capital
  • Using financial modelling to predict outcomes
  • Liaising with all parties involved in transactions and assisting with negotiations
  • Preparing legal documents and prospectuses
  • Assessing and predict financial risks and returns
  • Contributing to competitive bid proposals and formal presentations
  • Taking ownership of all stages of any transactions – planning, execution and finalisation
  • Working on all aspects of a range of transactions including M&A’s, Fund Raisings, etc.
  • Working with team members to coordinate financial modelling, research, pitch book development, etc
  • Developing relationships with key people


Qualifications, experience, skills and personal qualities:

  • BCom Accounting / Investments
  • CA(SA) or CFA qualification
  • Minimum five years experience
  • Outstanding academics or career achievements
  • Financial services experience preferable
  • Strong forecasting, valuation and analysis skills
  • SQL scripting advantageous
  • Self-motivated, target and growth-driven
  • Good IT skills and exceptional communication skills in multiple languages
